You can now set your own environment variables on an app. With this, you can keep sensitive data out of your app code, such as credentials to authenticate third-party services, private package indexes, or repositories to install Python packages that are not available on PyPi.
This means you no longer have to contact us to manage the value of the 'VIKTOR_APP_SECRET' and you can add multiple if you need more. These variables can be defined from the app's details page in the user interface. After setting the variable it becomes available in the app runtime, from where it can be accessed by the app code.

With the new 'Request Access' button, your colleagues without an account can now request access to your company's VIKTOR environment too! This means that users no longer have to guess who to contact if they want to gain access.
Access requests will be bundled and sent per mail to the environment admins, ready for processing on the admin's part.
For this edition, we want to highlight an application by Eymen Çağatay Bilge that generates optimized architectural designs for various housing types. It takes into account factors like views, natural light, sun-hour, sales area, and cost. The goal is to create designs that align with zoning regulations and land specifics.
Try out the app and share your thoughts on his community post about the app to help Eymen refine it!
Would you like to share your application with the rest of the community as well? Please let us know by sending an email to support@viktor.ai!
