What's new in VIKTOR (March 2025)

VIKTOR

by VIKTOR

This March, we have some exciting updates to share with you. You can now add OutputFields to DynamicArrays, unlocking new ways to present data and enhance user interaction. We've also made it possible to maintain data from a view across pages and steps, so you no longer have to deal with resets. In our community spotlight, we're featuring the SectionProperties Demo App by Luis Maldonado de la Torres. Stay tuned for more improvements and innovations!

OutputFields now supported in DynamicArrays

You can now add OutputFields within DynamicArrays, unlocking new ways to present calculated or static data alongside user inputs to improve your app's user experience.

For example, you can select a beam type, and the OutputField will display a corresponding property, such as the moment of inertia, which is then used in the calculation. This makes tools more interactive and user friendly. For more details, visit the documentation.

Maintain data from a view across pages and steps

Navigating between pages or steps no longer resets your view state. Previously, moving away from a view would require recalculations upon return, also when no parameters were changed. Now, your app remembers this data when navigating between steps or pages, making it easier to revisit previous actions and make adjustments!

Community Spotlight

This month in the community spotlight, we have the SectionProperties Demo App by Luis Maldonado de la Torre. With this application, engineers can easily tap into all the features of the open-source Python package SectionProperties without writing a single line of code. Try out the app to find out how simple it is to define, analyze, and visualize cross-sections within no time!
