VIKTOR

by VIKTOR

The new VIKTOR platform release is here! The time has come for October's platform update. This month we update you on private workspaces, in-product notifications, Python 3.13 support and transparent resource information in app. In this edition's community spotlight, we have Vicoma's Pipe Support Tool.

In this whitepaper, we present a framework for engineering automation that helps you understand how you can create automation initiatives that generate real impact within your organization.

Private workspaces for developers

Developers can now create private workspaces for the apps they maintain, without needing admin approval. They can also invite test users directly, giving them more control and flexibility in testing and maintaining their applications.

Stay updated with in-product notifications

We’ve made it easier to keep track of important updates with in-app notifications. We’re starting with two types of notifications: errors reported to app maintainers and invitations to private workspaces.

Clicking the notification will take you directly to the relevant page, helping you take quick action.

VIKTOR supports Python 3.13

Eager to try out the latest Python 3.13 features and benefit from its performance improvements? We've upgraded the VIKTOR SDK and CLI so you can build, use, and share apps using Python 3.13!

What’s in it for you?

  • Faster performance
  • Improved asynchronous programming with better event loop
  • Enhanced pattern matching to handle complex data structures
  • Clear error messages for easier debugging
  • New syntax features to help you write clean and expressive code

Check out Python’s What's New page for more details on the new features, or view our installation guide in the docs.

Easily view resource information in apps

Without visibility into cloud resources, hitting memory or disk limits can lead to unexpected errors. To help with this, we’ve added detailed resource information for every app running in the cloud to help you troubleshoot resource-related errors and make more informed decisions about optimizing or requesting more resources for your app.

You can now see the CPU cores, RAM, disk storage, and scaling limits allocated to your application to help you understand exactly how your app is configured!

Community spotlight

This month, we're featuring Vicoma's Pipe Support tool—a tool designed to do exactly what its name suggests: help you easily calculate pipe support. Be sure to check it out and give it a try!
