“PileCore brings automation efficiency and manageable flexibility to any foundation project” - ir. Jacco Haasnoot, Senior Specialist | Director Crux

Efficiency and flexibility through automation

Calculating the pile bearing capacity in projects with many CPTs can be a time-consuming and repetitive task for geotechnical engineers. The CEMS PileCore application helps by quickly moving from source data to reporting with smart algorithms and useful pre-settings. For example, the classification of the positive and negative skin friction zones can be performed automatically. The engineer maintains full control because interim results are transparent and can be adjusted based on engineering judgement. For example, PileCore not only offers efficiency through automation, but also flexibility when needed, so that it has a standard working method for every project

Features of PileCore

PileCore offers many features, such as:

  • Calculation of pile bearing capacities according to NEN9997-1 for foundation projects, which is possible for several pile point levels and CPTs simultaneously.
  • Automatic classification of CPTs through the CEMS Machine Learning CPT-model.
  • Automatic determination of positive and negative adhesive zones
  • Graphical and interactive visual representation of the results per pile point level.
  • Grouping of CPTs and testing on the coefficient of variation.
  • Easy tweaking and customization of calculation parameters.
  • Automatic generation of reports.

Additionally, you are able to choose out of standard pile types with fully customizable advanced parameters, specify pile head and pile tip levels, reduce qc by OCR and excavation level, and automate friction zone determination either deterministic (where the lowest weak layer is chosen) or subsidence-driven (iterative based on specified pile load).

“With PileCore we can automate pile design, while the engineer stays in full control. It helps you to very efficiently process large numbers of CPTs to a pile bearing capacity and compose pile groups that fulfil the NEN9997 requirements.”
