What's new in VIKTOR (January 2025)

The time has come for the first platform update of this year. This January, we want to update you on the following topics: improved app names, invite users directly from your workspace, updates to the integrations, and more! In this edition's community spotlight, we have the Column Interaction Surface application by Edson Carrasco. Does this sound interesting? Keep reading for more information on this month's changes.

Improved app names

You can now customize the names of your VIKTOR apps to make them clearer and more user-friendly. Add capital letters, spaces, or other formatting to improve readability. These names are what end-users see in the app store and can be updated anytime to enhance clarity.

Keep in mind that the app's registered name—a unique identifier used for publishing—will automatically derive from your chosen app name. However, once set, the registered name cannot be changed.

Invite users directly from your workspace

Workspace admins can now invite users directly from within a workspace, making it faster and easier to add new users. The previous 'share' button has been replaced with an ‘invite users’ button for admins.

Updates to the integrations

Installation scope

From now on, you no longer need administrator rights on your machine to install a worker. Simply select the option 'Install only for me' when installing the worker.

New integrations

We've also added several new integrations to the platform, like ETABS, SAP2000 and Dynamo, making it easier to connect your apps with your favourite software.

Community spotlight

This month, we share Edon Carrasco's application 'Column Interaction Surface'. You can use the application to calculate the combined loads of a column surface under certain circumstances and generate a corresponding column interaction diagram. Try it now!
